Who we are

Jeno Energy ("Jeno", "we", "us") operates the software at this domain and at jeno.energy. The data controller is Jeno Energy B.V., contactable at privacy@jeno.energy for any question or request about your personal data.

What we collect

Account signup

When you create an account: your email address, a hashed password (we never store your password in plain text), and the account/company name you choose. We send a verification email to confirm your address before the account becomes fully active.

Session cookies

We use a session cookie strictly to keep you signed in. It is not used for advertising or third-party tracking, and we do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or similar third-party trackers on this site or on jeno.energy.

Usage analytics

We record first-party page views on this application and on jeno.energy to understand how the platform is used. For each page view we may store the page path, approximate location derived from your IP address (country only), browser type, referrer, and whether the visit appears to be from a human, bot, or automated scanner. This data is used only for internal platform operations and is visible to Jeno administrators — we do not use it for advertising profiles or sell it to third parties. Usage analytics events are retained for up to 90 days.

Website signup

When you sign up through jeno.energy, we create an account for you using the same information as account signup above (name, email, company, and related details you provide). We do not keep a separate marketing-interest record once an account has been created.

Project data

If you use Jeno to structure a solar project, you may enter your own clients' information — names, site addresses, GPS coordinates, energy usage, and equipment specifications. We process this data on your behalf as your data processor; you remain the data controller for information about your own clients.

Two-factor authentication

If a platform administrator enables two-factor authentication, we store the authenticator secret and hashed one-time backup codes needed to verify login attempts.
